Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
If I look out my window and see someone burglarizing my vehicle (whether I left it unlocked or not), do I have the right to exit my home and use lethal force to stop them?

While there is much discussion of lethal force and "stand your ground" legislation, the basic rule applies. Unless you are protecting yourself or another person from death or serious bodily injury, you are not allowed to use lethal force;
