Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Possible conflict of interest

I am in a child custody case and my ex and her attorney setup and had a supper at the attorney,s home one Friday night with the judge that will be hearing the case in attendance. They discussed the case going as for as having the judge question our oldest child (age 11). My ex told the child not to tell me about that meeting. The child did tell me about the meeting. I am wondering if this is considered a conflict of interest since the judge may now be biased and if so what are my options.

Re: Possible conflict of interest

File a motion to recuse the judge and ask that another judge be named to hear the motion. Have the child testify at the hearing.

This was an ex-parte communication with the judge, which is highly improper. You and your lawyer must get this on the record as soon as possible.
