Im opening a restaurant and would like to put images or photos of known musicians on the walls.
Would I have to have permission from the artist or photographer to do this? Thanks

As a Franchise Attorney I respectfully disagree with the other attorney. Using a copyrighted image for a commercial purpose is copyright infringement, among other things. You need a license from the copyright owner of the images. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
