Legal Question in Personal Injury in Louisiana

My mom feel down my steps and fractured her skull. She was in ICU 10 days and then she died. I called my Homeowners to see if they would pay for her funeral expenses which was $11,000.00. They are offering me $5,000 which will not even pay for the funeral not to mention all the other expenses that I had, missing work, her bills, hospital balance etc. Can you tell me if I can demand them to pay me more since it was a death.

The language of the policy would control what amount they will pay for accidental injury and subsequent death. Without seeing the policy, it is difficult to answer further.
