Legal Question in Personal Injury in Louisiana

Parent's Liability to Full Time Student in College

My daugther is 20 years old, a full time student in college and lives at home. Her vehicle is titled in her name and she is insured on her own insurance policy. Can I be held responsible if she is involved in an automobile accident? My insurance agent said yes because I claim my daughter as a dependant for income tax purposes.

Assuming that she is not interdicted, no, not unless she is employed by you or acting as your "servant" (working under your control) or you are negligent. For example, you give her the keys to a car to drive when you know she is intoxicated.
