Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana
my father said he had a will before he died, my stepmother claimed could not find and that his lawyer died, we never contested this and left it alone till they tried to encroach on the property that my father left us and is stated in the deed now would like to know how to find it if possible.

A will is personal to the maker. They decide where they keep it before their death. It is probably gone if it ever existed at all. If your father LEFT you property without a will and without a donation or quitclaim or deed, then it may not be yours.
