Legal Question in Workers Comp in Louisiana
Two weeks ago, my husband was injured in an explosion in Marshall, Texas. He has broken bones in his hand and arm and his wrist is shattered and will need more surgery soon. Today, finally, the workers compensation rep. called and informed him that the maximum weekly payment of benefits is $770.00. My husband was earning $3000.00 per week. The benefit amount will not cover our monthly bills. What options do we have? The doctors say he will not be able to return to work for a year, with the surgeries and physical therapy. Can we make the gas company pay in addition to the work. comp.? The injury was caused by neglect of the gas company. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The accident happened in Texas and the gas company is located in Pennsylvania.
