Contract valid after change of ownership
My daughter attends a local day care facility, which has recently underwent a change of ownership. The enrollement contract with the previous owners went into effect this past sept. 2003 and was supposed to run until the end of the current school year, but since the change in ownership the new owners are informing parents that the ''old'' contract are null and void and that we must sign a new contract with the present owners in order for our child to continue attendance. Is the original contract valid or not?

Re: Contract valid after change of ownership
Does the contract have a clause that says it's binding on the heirs and assigns of the parties? If not, then it's not binding on the new owners, although theoretically you might have a breach of contract action against the old owners.
