Legal Question in Business Law in Maryland
Salesman takes customers
I have worked as a salesman/acct rep for the same Service Co. for over 15 years. I am considering starting my own Service business and want to know if I can simply call my old customers once I have my new business set up ? I have very close relationships with many customers and some will ''leave'' my old Co. to stay with (follow) me. I have never signed any non compete agreement and wonder if my old Co. can make my life miserable ?

Re: Salesman takes customers
Since you didn't sign a noncompete agreement, you're free to solicit your employer's customers AFTER you leave his employ. To do so before would be violative of your duty to your employer.
