Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Maryland
I went to court about harassing (through phone calls which were non-threatening) my grandson's other grandmother. The judge was completely one-sided. He told me three times in the very beginning, "I don't even know why you're here. I haven't read what is inside the complaint and won't ever read it if you simply agree to the peace order." I told him that straightening out the lies she wrote was important to me. I ended up getting the full 6 month peace order against me. He then told me that she could call me anytime she wanted, tomorrow, next week, or next month but I couldn't contact her. I told him I didn't think that was very fair and I had already explained that I would not care if I ever spoke to her again.I ask him to order phone records on the night in question and he simply ignored me. I have a master's degree in communication and it became obvious to me that something very funny was going on. He simply believed her over me, no evidence, no witnesses, etc. Can I get a transcript or recording of this to show to a lawyer? Please advise. I have never been in trouble for anything in my life and am truly upset about this.

Unless you feel physically threatened by the grandson's other grandmother, I might consider letting this go. You are gearing up to expend a lot of time, money, and frustration on something that's not worth it. Move on with your life!
It sounds like the judge was trying to tell 2 people, who for some reason can't put their differences behind them for the good of the grandson, to grow up and not try and use the Courts to settle your personal differences.
Best of luck.*******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.********
