Legal Question in Consumer Law in Maryland
I went online to get a cash advance, but never gave my final approval. Now companies are calling me saying I need to pay this money back, which they never deposited. I spoke with the bank officer and they said no money was ever, ever deposited into my account. How can I stop these harrassing phone calls.

If the calls are coming from debt collectors, tell them to put the matter in writing and to stop calling you. Once the letter comes, make sure you dispute the claim within 30 days. In the letter tell them again to stop calling you. Send the letter certified mail/return receipt. If they call you again, sue under FDCPA (as supplemented).
