Legal Question in Consumer Law in Maryland
My student loans are reporting late to the credit bureau. The lender sent me a document stating that they received information from my school, and that they would correct the deliquency in their files to reflect that my loans were deferred. even though they hav updated their files to show the correction, they are refusing to update the information in my credit report. Dispite my having this document on their letter head, I can't seem to get them to report the corrected information. What should I do?

You need to dispute the matter with the credit reporting agencies. You can go on their sites for information. You should also copy the school and the lender. By law, they have an obligation to research the matter. After you have provided notice of the dispute, if they do not comply with the law, you can sue them.
