Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland

Charged off debt

I have a unpaid charge off from an apartment complex that will hit the seven year mark this September, I keep thinking that this has to be removed because it is seven years old. But Mortgage companies and other people are telling me that the apartment complex can ''refresh'' it and keep it on my report until it's paid. Should I pay?

Re: Charged off debt

If it is a judgment then the statutory limit is 12 years for collection. A stale debt can be filed for renewal. Please take a look at answers that I have provided to other similar questions for further information.
