An insurance company is suing me regarding a car accident. The case was cancelled. It says merit trial. What does that mean? Is the case over?

It's difficult to advise you without looking at the paperwork. When you state the case was cancelled, what do you mean? Was it dismissed with or without prejudice?

If it says merit trial, the case may not be over. However, it is impossible for me to determine what is going on in your case without looking at the paperwork.
