Can a company garnish my wages even though I have only missed one payment and have since made it up?

Re: Garnishment

If the company has a valid judgment against you, and you were making payments but failed to make one, then they can garnish your wages. Practically speaking, however, if it is possible to work out a lump-sum payment with them at a discounted price then they won't have to wait a long time to get paid and you can get rid of the garnishment. Any agreement you make with them should be in writing and confirmed by the creditor.
