Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland
I made a personal loan to a friend for $5500. and he agreed to pay me $200 a month. Well after three deposits, he stopped. How do I file a judgment against him? I have the wire transfer info from my bank statement.

You need to sue the person before you can obtain a judgment. Maryland small claims court has jurisdiction up to $5,000. It is relatively easy and fast to have the matter scheduled for trial. You need your evidence (bank statement, e-mails, texts, witnesses). Also, the fact that he made three payments is evidence of the loan. Many people handle their own cases in small claims court.
