Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
Can a 19 year old male living in the state of MD legally have a non-physical (no intercourse or sexual contact) romantic relationship with a 17 year old female living in the state of VA?

Yes. There is no law against non-sexual relationships between adults and teenagers. Even so, the girl's parents can make trouble for the guy -- especially if their daughter keeps seeing him after they forbid her to do so.

Repost this question in the Virginia Criminal Law forum. Maryland has a statute that prohibits a person from interfering with parents' raising their child.
