Maryland's theft statute includes less than $100. with a 90 day penalty and less than $500 with an 18 month penalty. Both are misdemeanors. Felony theft is any amount over $500., and the penalties depend on the loss. It may be ten or more years.

We don't call it larceny, we call it theft. And over $1000 is felony or grand theft.
