Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
I was arrested for a first-degree assault charge three years ago in Maryland. I was 17 at the time, I am now 20. The Assault charge was Nolle Prosequi and I was charged with a reckless driving. I tried to get the record expunged, but had no success. When, if ever, will I be able to remove this from my record? Will it appear on my record forever?

A nolle prosequi should be expungable immediately, if a waiver and release is filed with it. However, if there were a guilty verdict on another charge in the case, then probably not. I offer a free initial consultation, if you would like to discuss this confidentially.
Technically you couldn't expunge the charge if it was dropped in exchange for your plea to the traffic charge. But that may not be the reason it was denied. I would like to see your paperwork to determine if you made a mistake and then help you re-file.
