Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

I was arrested in march 2005. I faced all kinds of criminal charges. I was arrested, without any sort of investigation what so ever. I am a business owner, and a good member of the community. No previous criminal background ever. I had never been in jail. I was frightened. The charges carried a 50000 bail. I paid the bail immediately 10precent. I just could not be in jail. These were just charges levied by a former girlfriend. Ultimately, I had to get a lawyer, and have the charges nol prosecute. I lost lots of money. Lawyers, bail, loss of business etc. I feel, how could they do this without any investigation, just based on word of mouth? Not fair at all. This was just emotional torture. This was not justice at all. Do I have any grounds to sue Baltimore county? There was no investigation against me. Nothing ever. I lost money. Was embarrassed. I have a record. It has impacted me in many ways. Do I have any grounds to right this wrong?

You need to post this on a civil question board.

Although your situation began with criminal charges, whether you have a case against Baltimore County now is a question for a civil litigator instead of a criminal defense lawyer.
