When you have a bench warrant out for your arrest, do the police come looking for you right away and if they come to your house do you have to let them in?

It depends on what the charge is, but it will likely be some time before the police actively look for you. There will be a flag on your license & vehicles registered in your name, so any police cruiser (and many toll facilities) that have license plate readers will be immediately notified if the reader reads your plates. An attorney may be able to get the warrant quashed/rescinded without the need for you to turn yourself in.

How quickly the police begin looking for you depends on the seriousness of your fence and police resources. If the police learn that you are in a house, then they may break into get you even if you don't want them to come in.
