Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
My boyfriend was sentenced to 18 months. After he was sentenced he went up for a violation of probation case. The judge gave him a consecutive sentence of 1 year. Is the inmate still eligible for parole with the consecutive sentence and can he be released on parole without regards to the consecutive sentence?

Unless the second sentence was not parolable, then he should be eligible. However, the consecutive nature and the requirement that a prisoner must serve half of a vop before he becomes eligible will affect his eligibility date.
