Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

I was convited of Conspiracy to commit Robbery in 2006. I did not actually commit the crrime, but because I was there I got charged too. Because of this incident I can't get a job ANYWHERE! I've finally found a place that will hire me. They will only hire me right now if this charge is a misdemeanor. If it's a felony I would have to wait until 6 years has passed, which won't be for 16 more months. My lawyer at the time told me that it wasn't. That his man goal was to make sure I didn't get any felonies on my record. I've had people tell me that they think that it is. If you could please help me figure this out I would greatly appreciate it. My name is Connie Lynn Stowers. I live in Church Hill, MD. My birthday is 1/20/1979. If there is any more information that you need please let me know. Thank you so much for your advice and time.
