Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
If I have court in district court and am not satisfied with the service the public defender gave me will they continue the case and give me another lawyer?

If you have already hired private counsel, who requests the postponement, then the Court might grant it. If you appear with your assigned public defender on the day of trial and make the request, the Court will probably deny it. Worse still, if you fire the assigned public defender, you might end up representing yourself, while the State will be represented by its attorney.
