Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
Delayed Jail Sentence
I have been following a case where the original incident took place 6 years ago. The defendant has just recently been charged and found guilty. He received 5 years jail time but was given three months before he has to turn himself in. Is this because of special circumstances such as family, work.....

Re: Delayed Jail Sentence
There may be many reasons for the judge's order. This appears to be a case where restitution may also be ordered and the Defendant is likely to comply completely. There may be other conditions placed upon the Defendant.
