Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
Is discovery (such as the statement of a witness or defendant) publicly accessible? Can such documents legally be shared with (or requested by) another person outside of court prior to trial?

Generally discovery is not publically accessible, but occasionally I have seen copies in the court file. If a defendant was not prohibited by agreement or statute from sharing it, then he or she could. People who are not parties to a case have no standing to request discovery.
