Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

My family member was charged and sentenced to serve 20 years concurrently for Attempted Second Degree Murder. He has been incarcrated since 2006. The man in question was murder by someone else in 2009. A group of people are being charged with this mans murder. My question is...is there any legal lopole to get this person out of prison? Thank you

A person who has been convicted may be able to challenge his conviction by appeal, Post Conviction Petition, Petition for Coram Nobis, or some combination of them. The right choice depends on facts in the case, such as whether there was a guilty plea or trial, whether he was represented by a lawyer, whether that lawyer's reprentation was substandard, and how much time has passed since the court entered judgement.
