Under very limited circumstances, such as if you were granted a PBJ or if you get a pardon from the Governor.

Probably not, unless you successfully persuaded the court that your plea violated your rights. Investigating whether to petition for coram nobis and then pursuing it involve significant time and resources.

Cleaning up a criminal record from the past is difficult. Unfortunately, with so many good, qualified people looking for jobs these days, it is a shame that one's past discretion keep them from moving on and improving their situation.

That being said, unless the State's Attorney's Office dropped your case by entering a "nol prosse" or a stet (putting your case "on hold" indefinitely), you may be out of luck. Guilty pleas, guilty findings, and other convictions cannot be removed from your record unless it is determined that there was some very serious wrongdoing that contributed to your conviction. Another way to get your record cleared is to get a pardon from the Governor, but you can imagine how unlikely this is.

Still, I am an optimist and never feel the door is completely shut. My firm offers a complete evaluation of your record and if possible, expungement of all qualifying information. If you would like us to take a look at your situation, FREE of charge, please call me at (410) 653-0065.
