Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
how can I get a firearms resrtiction lifted from my record? I had a felony back in 96 but is wasnt a violent crime it was credit card fraud.

Short of getting the law changed, you may not get rid of the restriction without getting rid of the conviction. However you may be able to have the conviction vacated by petitioning for a writ of error coram nobis. You would have to demonstrate that the conviction violated fundamental law. There can be significant time and cost involved in getting the record and examining it to just determine the chances of then pursuing the petition. However, I offer a free initial consultation. Your chances may be a bit better if you were represented by an ineffective attorney originally.
