Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
I made a stupid choice when I was 22-years old and received a Probation Before Judgement. Now I'm 28 and wish to join the police force. If I filed for a complete expungement of my records and had it granted years ago with paperwork confirming it, would any type of record of arrest or charges show up in a background check by the police department, preventing me from persuing this dream?

Expungement removes court and police records from public inspection, but they remain available for national security and public safety purposes.
