Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

maryland lsd possession

I was recently arressted in Garrett county Maryland for possession of LSD and Marijuana, both in personal amounts. What is the average sentence for such crimes? Keep in mind that I am a resident of Virginia, and was traveling home from a vacation.

Re: maryland lsd possession

I am not aware that anyone has done a recent statistical analysis of sentences for these offenses in Maryland. Even if there were such an analysis, it would be irrelevant for your case. The maximum penalty for lsd possession in Maryland is 4 years and marijuana possession is one year.

For instance, if the state can prove a prior conviction, it may seek enhanced penalties (which double the maximum) and mandatory minimum incarceration penalties.

If the case resulted in probation, you can try to transfer the probation supervision to Virginia.
