Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
My nephew is wrongfully incarcerated and needs help. The attorney he had in Maryland messed up his appeal and forgot to include vital grounds which would have overturned his conviction. How can he file for a Poor Person in order to retain counsel for an appeal/post-conviction in the state of Maryland? Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can email me at "[email protected]" Thank you!

If he cannot afford a lawyer, he can contact the Office of the Public Defender, Collateral Review Division, 300 W. Preston Street, Room 213, Baltimore, Maryland 21201. He should include in his request for assistance an explanation of what he believes that his lawyer mishandled.
