Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
do you have to go to the police staion to sign for a summons. the cop call me and said i have to come in and sign for a summons for assault-sec degree will i be arrest.

If you do not go, the police might arrest you. Do not discuss what may have happened to generate the charge. Simply identifiy yourself, sign indicating receipt of the papers, and leave. It is common for the police to contact people charged with misdemeanor offenses in the way they contacted you. However, if you have a warrant for something else, the police might arrest you.
