Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
probation before judgement
I am applying for a job and it asks ''if I have ever been convicted of a crime'' Can I say no? Is probation before judgement (pbj) a non-conviction?

Re: probation before judgement
You can say No. Probation Before Judgment is not a conviction.

However probation before judgement does appear in public records. Employers, lenders, and lessors who check often know what it means. You may be eligible to have the pbj expunged. If you get it expunged, then they would find nothing.
