Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
What proof is required to be arrested for carrying a concealed weapon? If I was frisked and my vehicle was searched and no weapon was found, can I still be arrested on a false accusation?

Probable cause is the standard for arrest. It means any combination of facts and circumstances that would make an ordinary person believe that a crime had been or was being committed by the person arrested. A police officer's word is usually enough for a misdemeanor or a felony, and a citizen's word can be enough for a felony. Some people lie, and police officers come from the community. While we hope that they would not lie, some do.
Anyone may be accused of a crime. Whether a person is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt is another matter.
