As a general rule:
After considering the testimony of a law enforcement officer, when a judge or other qualified judicial officer finds probable cause to believe that a crime has occurred and that evidence relevant to that crime exists on the premises to be searched, the judge can issue a search warrant authorizing a search of those premises. Of course, there is a vast body of published decisions on the validity of search warrants, and in order to understand whether a warrant would be valid in a particular set of circumstances, it would be necessary to research the applicable case law.
