Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
I am trying to help my son who has been in jail for 18 years. I believe that he was railroaded in to
his conviction. You would have to understand him and the situation he was put in for me to believe this.

Beware that the process of challenging a conviction is difficult and can involve signification resources, particularly an old one. The process involves trying to gather all of the old records, which may have been lost or destroyed, and analyzing whether a petition for postconviction relief or coram nobis might succeed. Then, additional resources are needed to litigate the petition. This is not a question of believing you or your son. It is a question of whether enough legally persuasive evidence is currently available to have a fighting chance of overturning a conviction.
