Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
My son is a resident of MD and received 2 citations for marijuana and paraphenalia. Less that 10g back in August. This is his first offense. Does he need a lawyer and will he go to jail? He only works p/t and can't afford an attorney. What can he do?

If your son cannot afford an attorney, then he should apply to the Office of the Public Defender for an appointed one. Even if the court does not sentence him to jail, the record alone might cause your son to have problems securing a job, a loan, or a place to live.
