If someone take the stand in there own defense at their trial can the prosecutor ask them about previous convictions?

When a person takes the stand in their own defense in a criminal trial, the prosecutor may ask about convictions involving honestly. Such convictions that could be brought out are: theft, selling drugs, embezzlement, perjury, burglary, armed robbery, and robbery, just to name a few.
