Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
stet
I am going to court in about a month for a second drug charge. The first one occured about a year and a half ago, but was only into about 8 months of unsupervised probation when the second charge happened. Question is: Since I am not originally from this state and wish to leave come winter would it be possible to have this put in stet because of distance I will be away from state, moving back to west coast, and the fact both charges were about very miniscule amounts of marijuana?

Re: stet
The only way you are going to get this on stet, or disimssed, or acquitted for that matter, is if there is some constitutional or factual issue with how your case was handled. Contact a criminal defense lawyer immediately! There are certain notices and motions that have strict deadlines in drug cases such as this!
Re: stet
I'm afraid that you being from out of state and wanting to leave, is not a reason for getting a case on the stet docket. The Stet docket is reserved for first time offenders. Anything is possible, but you probably will not get stet docket. Perhaps you can get probation again, and have the probation transferred to the state to which you are moving.
