Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
I was placed on a stet doc almost 3 years ago for marijuana possession and paraphernalia, I then just got a citation for just paraphernalia. Will this effect my original stet doc? Or am I o.k. since it was more than a year. (Also, they took place in different counties, if that may mean anything)

The State MAY bring the original charge back, but you might be ok.

The state would have to show "good cause" anytime after one year from the date stet was entered on the docket. The new charge might be good cause, but the state probably would not bother seeking a trial date on the case entered stet. Instead, the state would probably consider resolution of the new charge either way to be sufficent.
