Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

I am applying for a job and it asks ''if I have ever been convicted of a crime'' Can I say no? Is a stet docket a non-conviction?

Re: stet docket
Conviction means found guilty. Stet is not a conviction and not a dismissal of the charge(s) either. It's an indefinite postponement. You may qualify to expunge the stet, if three years have elapsed from the entry. You may honestly answer no to the conviction question, if you are referring to stet.
