Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
A subpoena to testify in a case was delivered to my work place on a date that I was not on site, left for another employee to deliver to me upon my return. Since this subpoena was not delivered to me in person as on the bottom of the subpoena it states that it was, nor was a copy sent to my 'dwelling house or usual place of abode' am I still legally obligated to appear in court for this case?

While you might argue that you did not receive legal notice, you did receive actual notice. The court might issue a body attachment for you and hold you in jail pending resolution of the issue. While legally you might be right, I would not recommend taking the risk.
It would be different, if no summons had been issued or no attempt at service had been made at all.
