Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

I have been summons to court on a violation of probation preliminary trial in Maryland, for not setting up my community service time. I just paid my restitution, and was about to set up my time for community service but was too late. The reason for not attending them is due to my prior move to Florida. It is for a bad check charge. What should I do at the preliminary trial, and what could the out come be?

I suggest immediately completing the hours at a church, charity, or community center (not for profit organization), instead of waiting until your hearing date. Bring proof on the organization's letterhead. Although completing the hours after they were supposed to have been completed will not avoid a violation, it may persuade the state to dismiss, or it may persuade the judge not to impose all of the suspended sentence. The only acceptable reasons for not completing community service are being in the hospital or in jail.
