You may be able to ask that your conviction be vacated, based on ineffective assistance of counsel. If you have not previously petitioned pursuant to the Postconviction Procedure Act, and if it has not been more than ten years since your conviction, then you may petition. However, the more important question is the likelihood of success, which depends on the record in your case. You must obtain from the court the transcript of your plea and your case must be reviewed to determine whether any fundamental law was violated.

An attorney can assist with obtaining the records, reviewing them, interviewing witnesses, and determining your chances of success. I offer a free initial consultation.
