Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
hello i got a uniform civil citation for fictitious drivers license. section 10 - 115 of md annotated code. the cop told me that a civil citation is no big deal and that if it was criminal it would be alot worse? is this true. what type of punishment am i facing? thanks

If the charge were "no big deal," then why did the cop bother to cite you? (Do not post an answer.) Civil citations result in fines, criminal offences can result in jail.
Pursuant to CL Section 10-119, the maximum penalty for a violation of 10-115 is either $500 for a first offense or $1,000 for a second or subsequent offense.
