when does unsupervised probation start at disposition date or upon release in maryland

Probation, whether supervised or unsupervised, begins either i) when the judge imposes the sentence for a person who is not incarcerated, or ii) upon release for a person who is incarcerated. If a person is taken in to custody at sentencing, then probation begins when confinement ends.
