Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
If I walk into a bank and hand the teller a note saying "I have a rubber chicken, give me all your money" could I be charged with robbery?

If the teller gives you anything of value, you may be charged with robbery and armed robbery. Without seeing what you had and did not have, it might be reasonable for the teller to believe that you were referring to a weapon by another name. Even if the teller gave you nothing, you may be charged with attempted robbery and attempted armed robbery which carry the same penalties as the completed offenses.
