how to get a warrant taken care of in a different sate

can i serve my time in a different state to get rid of this warrant

You should contact a lawyer in that other state. They have different rules of procedure than Iowa. If there is a warrant from another state and you are picked up in Iowa, you could spend some unnecessary time sitting in an Iowa jail waiting for transport to the other state.
