Legal Question in DUI Law in Maryland

Urinalyis for DWI Probation

Will / Can a probation officer use your urine samples to test for things other than Alcohol? If so, why? If I am complying with the State's wish to stay away from alcohol, what right do they have to intrude? I guess a more definitive question would regard what type drug tests are administered by the PO. Wouldn't a 5 panel be necessary for anything more than alcohol? That would seem to get mighty expensive too . . .

Most likely your probation also has a condition that you not use, sell, or possess any illegal substances.
